A missions opportunity and retreat rolled into one! Share Christ's love by being a caring presence in the life of a special needs adult. After day camp, the grounds are yours for rest, reflection and recreation.
Special Friends Day Camps
Fun without limits! Experience a camp specifically designed for special needs persons age 15 through adult. Enjoy all the fun activities and camp adventures such as swimming, mini golf, trail rides (extra fee), challenge course, crafts, skits, and more! One-on-one assistants (Camp Counselors) are provided for each camper.
Special Friends Riding Lessons
Therapeutic horseback riding is the use of the horse and equine-oriented activities to achieve a variety of therapeutic goals. Riders experience increased self-confidence, as they learn to control the horse as well as their own body. Riders show improvement in strength, balance, coordination, attention span, language and social skills, and also receive therapeutic muscle stimulation. Weekly lessons are for individuals with special needs, ages 8 and up.
Special Friends Swim Lessons
Swim lessons for people with special needs, ages 3+ including adults, are available this summer at Warm Beach Camp. Special Friends Swim Lesson Program uses aquatic activities and swim instruction to achieve a variety of therapeutic and swimming goals.
