Auction Recap

By Jeannie Patterson

Grateful. This is the first word that comes to mind when I think about the Kids 2 Camp Benefit Day. Grateful for those who donated such fun and amazing items. Grateful for all the volunteers and staff who contributed time and energy to make this day happen. Grateful for generous bidders.  Most of all, grateful for a God who brings so many together to work and give for the sake of His Kingdom.

It was a beautiful day, not too hot or too cold. The auction tent looked better than ever thanks to our amazing decorators. Over 300 items were auctioned to generous bidders. Total Fiasco, a band comprised of the Vance family, brought upbeat and uplifting live music adding to the fun atmosphere. Caribbean Cuisine and Warm Beach Espresso kept everyone full and satisfied. There were options for the kids as well, to keep them (and parents) happy.

The auction items themselves brought in close to $41,000. Which started with a hilarious bidding war for the very first item, a chocolate fudge cake, culminating in a $2,000 finish! The generosity didn’t end there, between all the different facets of Benefit Day almost $188,000 was raised for scholarships! Praise the Lord!

Our goal was to raise scholarship funds to help give kids a chance to experience camp. Kids who would not otherwise have that opportunity. By God’s grace, and to His glory, this was accomplished!

Pray for the planning that is already in the works for next year – and mark your calendars! Saturday, August 29, 2020.  Hope to see you there!

NEXT- He will keep me in His love, and give me grace in this trial to behave as His child. THEN- He will make the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He means me to learn, and working in ...

Ride of a Lifetime

“Don’t you want to retire so you can do all the things you’ve ever dreamed about?” It’s a question that I’ve been asked a lot. My answer, “I have gotten to do way more than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams these last 50 years in Christian Camping!” Little did we realize what was ahead when my husband, Stan, was finishing up his last trek of college education. We were lying on a blanket, soaking up the ...

The Barn Changed Me

Before the barn, I felt like I was missing something—like my purpose began and ended with being a mom and a wife. While those roles are sacred, I knew deep down there was more of me waiting to be found. I was searching for myself… learning how to honor my truth, how to listen to my own voice, and how to step into confidence in who I am. Then I found the barn. And slowly, quietly… it began to change ...
