Accomplished Love

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

1 Corinthians 13:1 NLT

Have you ever been with a person who was compelled to share with you all their accomplishments in life, only to find out they were not really interested in you? More importantly, there is a lack of basic love and care being communicated.

At the heart of this verse, love is meant to be lived and expressed through all of our life and accomplishments to the people around us. I would go so far as to say love is meant to be our underlying motive for everything we do.

As people, we bring gifts and talent to each other to help get things done. For some, it may be communicating in multiple languages. For others it may be the craftsmanship of their work or the wisdom of their thinking. When these accomplishments are gathered for the sake of love, something amazing happens in our lives. The world is a better place when we live this way.

Accomplishments without love turn out to be just noise in our life. What a waste.

Culture places a lot of value on our accomplishments.

God places value on everything we do accomplish being done from a place of love of God and love of others.

Encouragement: Choose “accomplished love.” Love is meant to inform and underwrite everything we pursue in life. Our primary aim is the loving God and loving others through all of our accomplishments in life.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, Thank You for showing us what “accomplished love” looks like and lives like. You took all of Your accomplishments, and, in love, shared them with us for our benefit and blessing. You literally save anyone who understand this and believes in You. May everything, we do be rooted in the love of God and the love of others. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
