An Environment for Life Change
By actively demonstrating kindness, support, and encouragement to one another, the Horsemanship Staff has created an environment where all who participate down at the Barn have life-changing experiences. Sara, a weekly Horsemanship volunteer, found the Christ-centered environment of the Barn to be just what she needed. Below is her testimonial:
“I moved to Warm Beach in December 2023, and by February, Horsemanship had already become the greatest blessing of my year and the highlight of my weeks. I came to Warm Beach from Seattle, near downtown, where life is fast, loud, and, quite frankly, unfriendly. I found the opposite environment at the Warm Beach barn, and I thank the Lord every day for giving me this sanctuary.
I also came to Warm Beach on the heels of a long season of grief and loss. But Horsemanship provided a welcoming space of healing and community. As soon as I entered the barn for the first time, I knew right away that these were my people, that I was home.
Horsemanship is remarkable because it is a group of wonderful people who all share the same passion for Jesus and horses. Aly is an amazing teacher who wants to see everyone succeed. Lisa and Meg always greet me with a friendly smile. Holly and Logan are hard workers who are willing to answer questions and teach me new things. Heather is a skilled volunteer wrangler and a fierce safety advocate. The Pony Club girls bring joy to the barn, and I have found new friendships in the volunteers.
Through Horsemanship, I am learning how to care for horses and the facility well. I help with chores, grooming, and bodywork for the horses. I am currently taking a groundwork class for volunteers. I even had the opportunity to ride in a lesson for the first time in twenty years! Being around horses is so therapeutic, and I am grateful each day for the opportunity to be part of such a special place.
Thank you to Horsemanship for continuing to value your volunteers and for providing opportunities for us to help and learn more! I pray for you often and the horses we love so much.”
