July 26-29, 2020

Refreshed Family Camp at Warm Beach Camp provides foster and adoptive families a time and place to find refreshment by drawing closer to God and each other. The schedule is relaxed with a variety of activities and speakers. Enjoy a blend of age specific and family experiences. The atmosphere is supportive and fun and provides encouragement for the journey.

Vacation with a purpose

Refreshed Family Camp is a family vacation designed to strengthen family relationships and grow in God together. It provides time for family members to engage in new ways, and have fun together, as well as enriching age-group activities.

Learn how to properly handle a bow and arrow while mastering the skill of archery!

Birth to 5 Program

Loving care is provided in separate age specific rooms for our babies and toddlers during the morning and evening sessions. Children age three and a half to five participate in an exciting preschool program where they make new friends and learn about God’s love.

Elementary Age Program

Children ages 6-12 get the fun and thrill of a summer camp experience at their morning and evening sessions. Led by Camp staff, behavioral specialists, and adult leaders, they will participate in games, crafts, snacks, train rides, recreation, music, Bible studies, and more! Throughout the week kids will move from activity to activity with their cabin, a small group of 12-14 similar aged kids and 2 counsellors.

Youth Program

Youth ages 12-18 will have an experience designed just for them during the morning sessions. Activities include music and worship, faith building, recreation activities, games, swimming pool party, and more!

Adult Program & Family Program

While the children and youth are having fun at their session, adults have the chance to participate in their own faith building sessions, or take time out to relax and enjoy some down time.

Monday and Tuesday morning begin with a time of reflective worship followed by a variety of soul enriching activities to choose from. These include things such as: yoga or a boot camp style workout, canyon adventure, coffee hour, walk and talk for couples, friends or individuals, time to take a nap or a shower by yourself. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

Monday/Tuesday evening parents gather with their children age 12 and older for interactive family sessions with inspirational speakers and engaging activities.

Wednesday morning parents gather with their children age 6 and older for a final interactive family session.

Monday & Tuesday Evening Speakers

Ryan and Kayla North have 6 children, 4 adopted from foster care. They spent 10 years as foster parents and have learned many of the things they share with families, churches, and schools in the trenches.

They are co-founders of One Big Happy Home and are considered experts on childhood trauma. Together they have developed training materials and programs for churches, schools, and parents educating them on trauma and its impacts.

Kayla is a Trauma-Competent Caregiver and the Executive Directory of Tapestry, a non-profit that supports and equips churches with the tools and resources needed to help the families they serve.

Ryan leads One Big Happy Home and serves as the President of Tapestry. He was the Executive Director of Empowered to Connect for many years.

The Norths have trained and mentored hundreds of ministry leaders and trainers in the United States and Canada. They are both TBRI Practitioners and speak at churches, schools, conferences, and retreats nationwide.

Ryan and Kayla have had the privilege of working with some of the most respected voices in the fields of Developmental Trauma and Attachment including; Dr. Karyn Purvis, Dr. David Cross, Daren Jones, Dr. Curt Thompson, Dr. Tina Payne-Bryson, Cindy Lee, and Jayne Schooler.

They have developed online training for parents and churches which is available at their online trauma school.

Wednesday Morning Speaker

Ed has devoted a big part of his life to adoption and foster kids through Warm Beach Camp by working with others to make camp possible for foster and adoptive families. He and  Bev have 9 kids and 15 grandchildren. 5 of the children and 6 of the grandchildren are adopted.

Allen & Angelina have been foster and adoptive parents for more than 20 years. They have six children ages 11-36. In addition to being a foster/adoptive dad, Allen is also a former foster-youth. They are deeply involved in the annual Seattle Refresh Conference for foster and adoptive parents. Allen serves on the board of directors of Seattle Angels, an organization which exists to serve foster families in the Seattle area and is currently authoring two books "Fostering Success: A Story of Self-Discovery" and “Crucial Conversations for Dads of Daughters.”

1. Choose lodging options for your family

Full time registrants are given priority in housing assignments. Linens are not included (except where noted), linen packs are available in other lodging $12 per pack.

2. Choose per-person registration fees

Registration fee includes program, insurance and meals (optional) fees.

3. Register For Refreshed Family Camp

Financial assistance is available. Email the Registration Department for details.

NOTICE: Due to COVID-19 we have made the difficult decision to cancel Refreshed Family Camp for 2020. We are planning an alternative camp experience for this summer. With God’s help, and our Governor’s 4-step plan, we hope to offer families a special Oasis Family Camp Stay & Play, July 27-August 2, 2020. More details to come.
