Day Camp

We are unable to serve children with profound physical, medical, or psychological needs, or those with legal restrictions. Conditions which have the possibility to be accommodated are ADHD/ADD, Autism (including Asperger Syndrome), visual and hearing impairments, Down Syndrome, and other physical or developmental limitations. 

Each participant needs to be able to walk a mile daily, use restrooms with no assistance, have clear communication and must be able to participate fully in a large group (10-12 kids) with one counselor with no outside support.

What to Bring

• Backpack/Bag 
• Bible (optional) 
• Water Bottle – hydration is an essential part of the experience!
• Lunch - All campers must bring a temperature-controlled sack lunch each day. Please note that a microwave, refrigerator, and hot water will not be available to campers.
• Snack (optional – one snack will be provided each day, but please provide a snack if your child has food preferences)
• Plastic Bag – for wet/dirty clothes
• Change of Clothes – including socks and underwear
• Modest Swimsuit
• Pool Towel

Medications

When checking-in your camper you will need to notify the staff member if your camper has medication to be checked-in. Your camper’s counselor will hold onto medication for your camper throughout the week. 

(IMPORTANT: All medication must be in the original container with patient name/dose). 

By signing in medications to the Camp staff you are giving them permission to administer approved medications.

What Not to Bring

Please leave the following items at home:

• Cell Phone
• Walkie­ Talkies
• Knives or anything sharp
• Pets – Not even little cute pets.
• Tobacco Products
• Alcohol or Drugs
• Your Own Harness / Helmet
• Electronic Devices
• Toys from Home
• Personal Sports Equipment – We will provide everything needed for camp.

Camper Code of Conduct

Camper Code of Conduct will be covered in a sensitive and age-appropriate manner during camp orientation. Our purpose in maintaining this code of conduct is to show that we are all here to build each other up and encourage one another in love at all times. As such, the following behaviors are not allowed at Warm Beach Camp. If observed, campers are required to notify the camp director or a staff member immediately: ­

• Use or Possession of Alcohol, Drugs, or Tobacco
• Sexual Behavior ­of any kind
• Self­-Mutilation
• Eating Disorders ­
• Stealing or Lying ­
• Profanity ­or Inappropriate Language or Conversation ­
• Negative or Disrespectful Attitudes
• Skipping Activities or Sessions ­
• Bullying, Physical Abuse or Sexual Abuse ­
• Contraband Use or Possession
• Gossip ­or verbal abuse
• Keeping medications ­or failure to turn in or report medication

Abusive Behavior and Defiant Disobedience- Abusive behavior and defiant disobedience will NOT be tolerated and will be potential grounds for dismissal. This includes abusive behavior to self (drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, and self-­mutilation) or to others (bullying, fighting, and verbal abuse). If abusive behavior or defiant disobedience becomes apparent, please notify the camp director or a staff member immediately.

Sexual Misconduct or Abuse- Sexual misconduct or abuse will not be tolerated. Sexual misconduct or abuse will be grounds for dismissal and will require a meeting with the Director and notification of the Executive Director and Parents. If you observe sexual misconduct or abuse occurring, please notify the camp director or a staff member immediately.

Relationships- Warm Beach Camp does not allow physical relationships between minors. All staff members will remain alert and vigilant for any signs of inappropriate conduct between minors. Youth of the opposite sex are not allowed to be alone together. Youth Campers are expected to not engage in sexual touching of any kind. ­Do your best to avoid and do not initiate kissing, frontal hugs, holding hands, back rubs, tickling, etc. No bullying, physical abuse or verbal harassment of any kind.

Cell Phones / Devices Policy- There is no app for this. Stop, listen and look around. Nature is amazing! Enjoy it while you can. Please leave your cell phones and devices at home.

Drop-off and Pick-up: Instructions will be sent in the confirmation email received after you register.

Meals
We are very active at camp and a healthy lunch and snack are important.

Lunch - All campers must bring a temperature-controlled sack lunch each day. Please note that a microwave, refrigerator, and hot water will not be available to campers.

Snack – We will provide one snack each day. Please provide a snack if your child has food preferences. Snacks are also available for purchase in the afternoon, but there will always be an option given.

Lost & Found 

Please label your child’s belongings. Warm Beach Camp is not responsible for any lost or broken items. If your child has lost an item at Camp, please contact the Registration staff at 360.652.7575. 

What to do in case of an emergency: 

We want kids to establish their independence. But if there’s a home emergency, contact the camp Director, Sara Kauffman, at 360.639.8791.
