God Keeps His Promise

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

Hebrews 10:23 NLT

This morning was an early morning of no sleep. I have learned, that often, the Lord has something He wants me to pay attention to, and for me, the best time to get my attention is when there are not very many distractions – EARLY MORNING.

This morning was no exception. God’s encouragement to me was: God Keeps His Promise.

Because of the integrity of God, I will hold on to God no matter what life brings my way, good or bad. I will share the hope I have in God through Jesus Christ with anyone willing to listen. I will live in confidence because of the integrity of God.

In the Old testament, a system of sacrifices was set up to keep people in good standing with God. These sacrifices had to be repeated over and over again, as people continued to live in ways that required cleansing and forgiveness.

Jesus Christ comes along and sacrifices His life because God has decided to end a sacrificial system based on repeated human effort. Instead, God takes 100% of the sacrifice onto Himself through Jesus Christ once and for all.

God Keeps His Promise. Listen:  “For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.” Hebrews 10:10 NLT; https://bible.com/bible/116/heb.10.10.NLT

Listen again: “For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.”

Hebrews 10:14 NLT; https://bible.com/bible/116/heb.10.14.NLT

This is what God is saying: The sacrifice of Jesus for you and me is complete. It is finished. You and I are perfectly restored to God as we are being made holy in everyday life.

As a follower of Jesus, I want to live with deep respect, honor, and gratitude for God. I want the way I live to reflect God’s compassion and will. I do not want to trample on His mercy and goodness extended to me at the greatest of cost.

Encouragement: Be glad that God keeps His promise. Follow Him with all Your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Live with compassion, honor, and respect towards God and others. Incorporate His ways of living into your life every day.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for keeping Your promises.

In Jesus name, Amen

Never Stop

Photo by Fabien Wl on Unsplash Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. 1 Chronicles 16:11 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/1ch.16.11.NLT I have a confession to make. Sometimes I think I have arrived. I have actually mastered something and no longer need to pursue additional knowledge, learning or application. I ignore the possibility of new learning because “I have this figured out.” Nothing could be further from the truth. I have been driving for a few decades now. Even ...

Remember The Lights

As a little girl I was terrified of the dark. It seemed to have its own weight and shape-shifting qualities that made it overwhelming. Living in a huge old Craftsman style home that went from comforting to ominous when the shadows turned long, set the stage for those anxieties more than efficiently. I remember on certain nights how my eyes would search for light. Light from the street lamp, light from the hallway, light from the neighbor's window. Remembering where ...
