God Keeps His Promise

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

Hebrews 10:23 NLT

This morning was an early morning of no sleep. I have learned, that often, the Lord has something He wants me to pay attention to, and for me, the best time to get my attention is when there are not very many distractions – EARLY MORNING.

This morning was no exception. God’s encouragement to me was: God Keeps His Promise.

Because of the integrity of God, I will hold on to God no matter what life brings my way, good or bad. I will share the hope I have in God through Jesus Christ with anyone willing to listen. I will live in confidence because of the integrity of God.

In the Old testament, a system of sacrifices was set up to keep people in good standing with God. These sacrifices had to be repeated over and over again, as people continued to live in ways that required cleansing and forgiveness.

Jesus Christ comes along and sacrifices His life because God has decided to end a sacrificial system based on repeated human effort. Instead, God takes 100% of the sacrifice onto Himself through Jesus Christ once and for all.

God Keeps His Promise. Listen:  “For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.” Hebrews 10:10 NLT; https://bible.com/bible/116/heb.10.10.NLT

Listen again: “For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.”

Hebrews 10:14 NLT; https://bible.com/bible/116/heb.10.14.NLT

This is what God is saying: The sacrifice of Jesus for you and me is complete. It is finished. You and I are perfectly restored to God as we are being made holy in everyday life.

As a follower of Jesus, I want to live with deep respect, honor, and gratitude for God. I want the way I live to reflect God’s compassion and will. I do not want to trample on His mercy and goodness extended to me at the greatest of cost.

Encouragement: Be glad that God keeps His promise. Follow Him with all Your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Live with compassion, honor, and respect towards God and others. Incorporate His ways of living into your life every day.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for keeping Your promises.

In Jesus name, Amen
