Going Once, Going Twice … Sold!

The August Extravaganza is coming on Saturday, August 23, 2008

It is fast-paced, exciting, and fun for the entire family – so big it takes place under a big-top tent! There’s only one word to describe it: extravaganza! It is Warm Beach Camp’s August Extravaganza.

The ninth annual August Extravaganza is a fundraising event for the Camp, helping to raise needed funds for camp scholarships and the Camp’s operations. Last year, hundreds of people came ready to buy and have a good time. They found some incredible bargains, lots of great gift ideas, and even once-in-a-lifetime experiences, all up on the auction block for the highest bidder. At the end of the day, nearly $40,000 had been raised to help support the ministry of Warm Beach Camp.

The auction preview opens at 9 a.m. The first auction begins at 10 a.m., and the main event live auction starts at 12:45 p.m. You won’t want to miss any of the auction fun as hundreds of items, from things for the yard and garden, sports memorabilia, dining opportunities, gift certificates, craft items, tools, golf packages, sporting event tickets, vacation packages, home furnishings, one-of-a-kind experiences and opportunities, go on the auction block.

Throughout the day, children can take advantage of rides on the draft horse wagon and Polar Express train. There will be clowns, face painting, a petting farm, and the bouldering wall where youngsters can enjoy the excitement of rock climbing and the safety of not being more than three or four feet off the ground.

There will be lots of food available for purchase, including hot dogs, Ivar’s clam chowder, fresh salads, the Camp’s famous donuts and cinnamon rolls, and more.

There’s something for you at the August Extravaganza!

“We want to invite you to the August Extravaganza,” says Gary Kocher, the Camp’s Annual Fund Director and event coordinator. “We’ve combined lots of fun activities into an extravaganza! And, it all helps fund an important ministry – Warm Beach Camp. I know you will enjoy it!”

Make your plans to be a part of this exciting event this year – the August Extravaganza, Saturday, August 23.

Things you can do to help make the August Extravaganza a success for the ministry of the Camp:

  • Donate one or more item(s) for the auction. New or near-new household items or an experience or service you can offer to others are perfect for the auction.
  • Promote your business and help support the Camp at the same time by donating a product or service to the auction. We will make sure your business gets some great publicity through the Extravaganza.

Call or e-mail Gary Kocher at the Camp for more information.
