Gone Forever
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Revelation 21:4 NLT
The Apostle John is writing down the vision from God about a time when everything is made new by God. God is back among us: I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.” Revelation 21:3 NLT
When God comes back, there will be a new experience for everyone who has followed God by believing in His Son, Jesus Christ. Death, sorrow, crying, and pain are no more. Gone forever!
Reflection
One of the highest privileges God has given me over the years is to come alongside people at times when pain, sorrow, crying, and death are front and center in the realities of life. It is a sacred trust to be in the space of someone who is “going through it.”
“I want it to be over,” “I want the pain to stop,” “I can’t stop crying,” and “Please, let the suffering end,” are words of longing and desire to be in a better place than we are right now.
One of the beautiful realities of time spent at Black Diamond Camp, Rainier Camp & Retreat Center, and Warm Beach Camp & Conference Center is a taste of what is to come. For a few days, the realities of death, suffering, crying, and pain are held at bay. The presence of God is close. Unconditional love is experienced. Relationships that have been struggling find new hope and renewed commitment.
It is a taste of what is to come.
Encouragement
Embrace the God-given vision of the Apostle John. God living with us. Everything is being made new. Death, sorrow, crying, and pain are gone forever. God Himself, will wipe away those final tears.
Find places on this earth that give us a taste of what is to come. Christian camps are a great option for you and your family to consider.
Yes, there is a day when everything will be made new by God!
Yes, there will be a day when the age of suffering is over! Gone forever!
Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for the vision given to the Apostle John. Thank You for the description of a time when the hardest things are gone forever. Thank You for the hope of a day where You return to live with us, making everything new again.
Thank You for glimpses of this future through places like Christian camps. May we find time to take in the beauty of Your promise.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, amen.
