Growing in Confidence
Warm Beach horsemanship strives to build confidence in riding students by encouraging regular hands-on practice, riding with independent aids, safe horse handling and effective communication skills. Students find a sense of ownership in the grooming and tacking process with their assigned horses in addition to time spent working with them in arena lessons.
Warm Beach Pony Club members build on this foundation by learning more in-depth horse care and handling skills. In the month of October, two teams of Warm Beach Pony Clubbers participated in a Show Jumping Rally in Monroe. Team members capably tended to their horses, working together to feed, water, and care for horse health needs, while managing stall cleaning, warm up, and ride times. It is deeply rewarding to see the growth in these students’ abilities and confidence. Throughout the rally team members stepped up to advocate to event judges for their fellow teammates, delegate tasks to others, and assist with horse management supervisors overseeing the event. They also make every effort to extend helpful hands to other teams in these events and represent Jesus to everyone they meet. Warm Beach Instructors are proud of these moments where students display exemplary sportsmanship, horsemanship, and discipleship as individuals and teams. In reflection, the highlight of these events is not found in award ceremonies, ribbons, or prizes; but in the growth of young leaders, encouraging each other to develop in new roles and exercise their confidence.
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2nd Timothy 1:7
