I Hope All is Well With You

Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.

3 John 1:2 NLT

I hope all is well with you. I wish you health in your body and strength in your spirit. May God be near you with blessing, encouragement, and abundance.

The apostle John is writing this letter to a friend, thanking him for the hospitality given to people who travel, and teach others about following Jesus. Here are some of my thoughts about John’s letter for us today.

May we always show hospitality and kindness to people who are teaching and showing us how to follow Jesus in this world today.  Leaders and teachers appreciate genuine relationships when on the road.

Look for ways to be an encouragement to others with your relationship, time, and resources.  Meet for coffee (one of my favorites), give a gift, share a meal, provide transportation from one place to another, give money where needed, and make connections with others on someone else’s behalf.

Encouragement is really quite easy.  It does take time and doesn’t do well in a rush.  Giving encouragement is often fun.  One of the real blessings in encouraging people leading and teaching us in the ways of Jesus is we learn and grow through sharing hospitality.

Encouragement:  The apostle John has given us great words to begin giving encouragement:  Dear Friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.  Build from there, with a real focus on providing hospitality to those showing us the ways of Jesus.

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, thank You for reminding us to focus on encouraging and caring for those who are teaching us Your ways.  Thank You for reminding us to simply greet each other with kind and compassionate words.

In Your name Jesus, we pray, Amen.

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT Have you ever been in a situation where someone told you to hold on tight? ...

How Horses Have Drawn Me Closer to God

Growing up, I never thought horses would become an integral part of my life. I was five when I saw my mom bitten by an abused horse at a girl scout camp my sister was attending. I was terrified after that. When I was twelve, my best friend saw an advertisement for riding lessons and she begged me to try it once. I finally caved in and agreed to one lesson and one lesson only. I was put on an ...
