Investing in People

  • Where the world plugs into constant stilmulation, WBC offers a place to “unplug.”
  • Where the world struggles through “rush hour,” WBC offers rest and renewal.
  • Where the world focuses on results, WBC focuses on relationships between people and with God.

When people experience these contrasts, something deep in their lives is called out, nurtured, and encouraged. When the beauty of nature in a place like Warm Beach Camp is combined with a message of hope, people respond.

Project information

A successful Embracing the Vision campaign can provide the necessary resources to fund the following programs and needs that continue to put people first at Warm Beach Camp.

1 Expand the Kids-2-Camp program

The demand for camperships continues to rise, as do the costs of providing these scholarships. The Kids 2 Camp program needs ongoing funding to make sure that every child, regardless of family finances, has the chance to find a life-changing experience at Warm Beach Camp.

2 Multiply the ministry

Beginning new programs and partnerships often requires start-up funds, which currently do not exist. Programs such as ministry to marginalized people require subsidies to keep costs down for attendees.

3 Upgrade athletic and recreational equipment

Recreational facilities are essential to the camp, conference, and retreat experience. Some WBC facilities, like the miniature golf course, which was replaced in 2007 through early ETV funding. In addition, the tennis courts need to be re-surfaced, playground equipment replaced, and the volleyball courts need to be relocated and installed with real beach sand. New facilities are equally important, like expanding the ropes courses, adding a Bouldering Wall, and installing softball backstops at W-Bar-B and the west recreation field.

4 Build and equip leaders

The Counselor in Leadership Training Program (CILT) has more applicants than WBC can accommodate. At least two more cabins need to be built at W-Bar-B to allow for youth camp demand. Additionally, WBC’s Internship Program is poised to expand into a global ministry involving international students who come to WBC for a training period and return to their country of origin equipped to lead other ministries themselves.

5 Expand Horsemanship options

Horsemanship offers an exceptional vehicle for sharing deeper truths, shaping character, and forming relationship skills. However, demand for this key youth program continues to grow faster than the facilities can accommodate. The Embracing The Vision campaign will provide funds for things like box stalls, and hay and equipment storage, all of which will free up arena space for expanded programs. These include riding lessons, vaulting team training, internships, and weekend show camps to meet the need for professional horsemanship training.

6 Add to the campership endowment

A campership endowment uses investment earnings to fund camp scholarships. Gifts made to an endowment are an investment in the future that pays ongoing dividends to this critical ministry. Currently, WBC’s modest endowment supplements the annual needs of our Kids 2 Camp scholarship fund. Building an endowment is absolutely necessary to ensure that future generations experience the life-changing opportunities at Warm Beach Camp.

Greater than Jesus?

“Students are not greater than their teacher, and slaves are not greater than their master. Students are to be like their teacher, and slaves are to be like their master. And since I, the master of the household, have been called the prince of demons, the members of my household will be called by even worse names!” Matthew 10:24-25 NLT Jesus is addressing the truth about being a committed follower of Christ. When I was a teen and into my ...

Transforming Lives at Day Camp

Summer is a season of adventure, growth, and new experiences—especially for kids. At Warm Beach's summer day camp program, children will have a choice of six incredible weeks filled with excitement, learning, and faith-building experiences. With up to 40 kids, ages 5-12 each week, this program is designed to be a place where kids can break away from their daily routines, engage in outdoor activities, and grow in their faith. Led by a dedicated team with a heart for ministry, ...

Growing in Confidence

Warm Beach horsemanship strives to build confidence in riding students by encouraging regular hands-on practice, riding with independent aids, safe horse handling and effective communication skills. Students find a sense of ownership in the grooming and tacking process with their assigned horses in addition to time spent working with them in arena lessons. Warm Beach Pony Club members build on this foundation by learning more in-depth horse care and handling skills. In the month of October, two teams of Warm ...
