More Than I Could Ask For
I volunteer with Warm Beach Camp Horsemanship. 2020 was my first year with the program, and it was remarkable!
At first, I was a little bit wary of connecting with another group of horsewomen, as I had “PTSD” of sorts from my experiences at stables with other strong horsewomen. I felt God tugging at my elbow though, so I went through the volunteer registration process and set a date to meet Ginger at the Warm Beach Camp stables.
Ginger and I had so much in common; so many similar life experiences we were blown away. We ended up praying together and hugging before I left. I was invited to come out two days later to help train a horse. I expected to be shoveling manure, but instead I would be riding!
I rode a lovely Percheron mare. The following week I attended volunteer training for the adaptive riding and vaulting program. I went as often as I could. Everyone I met, both staff and fellow volunteers were absolutely fabulous!
Over the past three years my family lost our farm, horses, and beloved father and husband of 39 years. We were devastated. We’ve been totally embraced, supported, and encouraged this past year, all while a pandemic raged. I trusted God would finish what he started in me, and He has been entirely faithful.
God assembled a remarkable team of men and women for healing, instructing, and mentoring at the Warm Beach Camp stables. His love is a banner over Warm Beach Camp, from the offices to the pastures.
I give thanks daily with tears of joy and gratitude. It is truly more than I could ever ask for! I look forward to many more years, God willing.
