Perhaps a quiet, serene setting where you can think, read, or pray, free from the distractions of home. Or perhaps it would involve a bit of pampering, delicious food, and fellowship with other women. Or maybe just a few days of no dishes, no cooking, and not one single load of laundry! WBC Day Camp is Off to Africa

by Nancy Nelson, Development Director "Please don't send me to Africa!" belted out a group of children as they sang a song many years ago in the auditorium at the close of a family camp. Fast forward to 2007, and one of those "kids," Matt Lambert, now a Guest Services Representative for the Camp, along with five other staff members, can't wait to board a plane in late August to head for Burundi, a little country in the heart of ...

Income tax savings from creating the trust and perhaps some of the trust income can be used to purchase a life insurance policy for you with children or other heirs designated as beneficiaries. Upon the donor's death, the assets of the trust go to a designated charity and the death benefit ...

Volunteer Keeps the Path Clear

Youthful Volunteers are “God’s Hands” to Others

By Jessica Beach, Administrative Assistant Warm Beach Camp has been blessed with many volunteers, both young and old. Without them, our organization would not be able to function the way it does. They arrived here last September with their motor home to become year-round volunteers. "I grew up in the city," Dawn continued, "but always felt like a displaced country girl. After volunteering at a few Working Weekends, I always wanted to live at Camp. Now I walk the grounds and feel like ...

The Overton Family – Immersed in Camp Life

By Nancy Nelson, Development Director Never in a million years did John and Carolyn Overton realize how immersed their entire family would become in the life of Camp when they brought their children to Home School riding lessons at WBC eight years ago. That set off a chain of events that eventually led to a move in 2004 from their residence near Snohomish, Washington, to a home overlooking Bayview Ranch House and the stables at WBC. This move was made ...
