Drawing People to God Through Camp!

Our mission at Warm Beach Camp & Conference Center is to provide Christ-centered environments, experiences, and resources that draw people to God through camping ministries, conferences, and events. We’ve long known the power of camp to draw people to God, but have you also known and experienced the power of a Christian conference? Perhaps after two years of collective isolation, it has even more significance as people hunger for community and reconnection. In February we had the privilege of hosting ...

A Time of Connection

The Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) Regional Conference is a great time for personal growth and learning from professionals in their various careers and trades in the horsemanship world. Warm Beach Camp & Conference Center happily hosted this year's conference in March. Not only is knowledge and information shared during the weekend, but it is filled opportunities to make new connections and friendships with people you may not meet otherwise. I was blessed to experience all these things throughout the weekend. ...

Stress Relief – Thanks Mom

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/php.4.6-7.NLT A new study on the reality of increased stress in people’s lives just came out. Stress levels are on the rise. Anxiety is up. It doesn’t come as a ...

Growing Beyond Myself

I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears (Psalms 34:4)  Reaching, seeking, and stretching all indicate areas of growth. Adaptive vaulting challenges not only physical effort but emotional effort as well. Vaulting’s unique environment and equipment provides opportunity for participants to reach beyond themselves. They discover physical and emotional boundaries can move. Flexibility becomes a metaphor as well as a physical experience. With Warm Beach Horsemanship’s equine partners and volunteer support, participants experience ...

Welcome to Repentance and Refreshment

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord… Acts 3: 19-20 NLT  Have you ever experienced sincere regret or remorse about a wrong you have done? Have you ever had deep sorrow over a realization of how others were wronged by people you are connected with? Welcome to repentance. When we bring regret, remorse, and sorrow for things that ...

Growing Confidence in New Experiences

Finding experiences and activities that your kids truly love can be a challenge. Our son Jonah had a hard time finding an activity he enjoyed enough to do more than once. He played soccer, basketball, ice skating, and even joined a math team, but nothing gave Jonah joy and confidence like ridging lessons at Warm Beach Camp. We signed him up for riding lessons hoping it might help him find something he enjoys but he found SO much more. For ...

Cole Marshall, Black Diamond Intern

I love being an intern at Black Diamond Camp for many reasons! I love the community I get to work in and be surrounded by. I love getting to serve others every day and know that my actions are making an impact on the lives of the people who come to camp. I also love working with others while running different activities, it’s great to see people come out of their comfort zones to try things that might be daunting ...

A Very Good Thing

When I gaze upon the beauty of a PNW sunset from my outlook at the stables. God’s faithfulness and provision are ever-present. His evidence abounds. The evergreen trees and lush green pastures withstand record breaking heat of summer, buffeting high winds of fall and bitter cold in winter. They remain the backdrop for the life-giving ministry between horses and people and give testimony to the work the Lord has laid before us at the stables. Beautiful fruit is being shaped ...

Living in Comfort

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/2co.1.3-4.NLT What comes to mind when you think of living in comfort? Sunshine, warmth, good health, family, friends, and adequate resources are a ...

Lessons for Life

“And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.” Galatians 6:9  The Riding Lesson program at Warm Beach Horsemanship continues to thrive as many realize these lessons don’t only improve riding skills, but they also develop valuable life skills.  Riding lessons provide an amazing opportunity for ministry! Mount Baker Cabins – The Value of Versatility

Come To the Middle

The relationship between horse and rider is similar to our relationship with God. Through interacting with horses all my life, including incredibly meaningful weeks attending Horse Camp as a child, I’ve witnessed God’s fingerprints displayed through horses profoundly. When I was asked to pastor a week of Horse Camp, I had trouble putting pen to paper. Before the first chapel, I dropped to a knee and asked the Holy Spirit to guide my words. He answered my prayer with short ...

Flourishing and Abundance

Abundance from God has a surprising connection with our confession and acknowledgement of our own brokenness and limitations. I have found enormous freedom and confidence by recognizing God is coursing through my life, and increasingly living His will through me. The challenge is to lean into the growth God is putting before me. By leaning into God, I experience flourishing.  Warm Beach Camp Ministries stands in the abundant provision of God. It is daily. It is beyond what we could see or ...

Grateful for Our Faithful Volunteers

I have worked at Warm Beach Camp for many years. Only recently did I begin working with volunteers in a broader context while serving as the Interim Volunteer Coordinator. What an encouragement to all the staff to see how faithfully the volunteers want to serve. Several volunteers help us for many hours each week. So much of what they do is critical to the ministry. During The Lights of Christmas, we have volunteers that fall into the age category of “the golden years” ...

God’s Enduring Love

As we transition from 2021 to 2022 there is a profound truth that has become our focus for 2022:  God’s Enduring Love. We just finished the 24th season of The Lights of Christmas, the 2nd year of a drive-thru format. We shared and experienced God’s enduring love. The story of Jesus coming to save us, God coming to be with us, was clearly evident through, and word. We are grateful for all those who chose to take this in. As we look ...

Is it Better to give or receive?

Photo by @benwhitephotography on Unsplash Growing up I looked forward to receiving Christmas gifts. As I got older, I found the joy in giving gifts to be more rewarding than receiving them. To answer the question, “Is it better to give or receive?” one must look at the context of the situation.  Shortly after arriving at Warm Beach Camp 29 years ago, I had an interesting conversation with Rod Brown who was on the leadership team. At the time, Rod was part of a men’s discipleship group with Pastor ...

Hello! My name is Alexander and I am proud to be a part of the Black Diamond Camp Internship program! I found myself at Camp back in 2019 as a summer staffer, it was then I got to meet all the wonderful staff and experience the beautiful campus.
