Project Updates – October 2015

Here is the latest news on the Camp’s current projects:

  • Construction is finally nearing completion on the two new Chinook Village dorms to serve the Special Friends Overnight Camps. There is some finishing electrical and plumbing projects to be done as soon as the contractors are able to schedule the work, and outside landscaping and site grooming to be done early next year.
  • Solar Panels ProjectThe Camp was awarded a grant from the Snohomish County P.U.D. for a solar power project installed on Cedar Lodge. The solar panels are up and running, producing electricity that is providing part of the power needs for Cedar Lodge. We appreciate the fine work of Arlington Electric who did the installation and grateful for the funding received from Snohomish PUD through the Planet Power program.
  • The exteriors of the Stables barns are currently being painted with volunteer help.
  • Work is underway to create 100 more parking spaces for The Lights of Christmas. These spaces are needed to handle the ever-growing numbers of vehicles that arrive each evening of The Lights.

If you are interested in volunteering to help with any projects, whether you have a few hours or a few days, call Jessica Wilson at (360) 312-3417 or email her at jwilson@warmbeach.com.
