Summer Camp Season Has Arrived!
God has blessed us with a beautiful summer and a highly anticipated month of camps at Warm Beach Horsemanship!
Horse Camps kicked off this August with Pony Club Camp, which Warm Beach Pony Clubbers look forward to all year. Staff and Pony Clubbers enjoyed this week of focused learning, riding lessons, horse games, as well as other exciting activities like swimming, archery tag, and crafts. It is in this window of opportunity that students build deeper connections in their walk with Christ, build stronger friendships, and experience personal growth and transformation through new challenges and lessons. It is deeply rewarding to witness spiritual, personal, and social growth amongst these students as they step into leadership skills and try their hand at new responsibilities. This year’s Pony Club Camp was especially exciting as we welcomed four new members for their first time attending Pony Club Camp!
Now we have moved into three weeks of Horse Day Camp, which provides a fabulous opportunity to reach our local community. While some campers may be meeting Christ for the first time through this unique human-equine connection, others are returning to grow their skills while they explore and expand their relationship with Jesus on a new level! Warm Beach Horsemanship’s horses, staff, and volunteers provide an ideal platform for growth and personal transformation through horse activities. Horse Camps support fun and engaging skill-building on a quality, education-forward foundation.
Horse Day Campers enjoy daily riding lessons along with horsemanship-specific activities and games throughout their experience. These include but are not limited to: mounted and unmounted games to practice skills, hands-on horse care, spiritual enrichment through equestrian guest speakers, and crafts that celebrate the spirit of camp and horses. Camp days are designed to provide campers with exciting horse activities from the ground to the saddle, while reaching their soul through horse, peer, and mentor collaboration. Poetically, and with a symmetry that can only be by God’s design, the resulting connections are deeply impactful on staff, just as they impact each camper.
Working with children brings staff back to their own camp memories, to the nostalgia of a time we remember fondly, a time that was more carefree and playful. This facilitates a genuine connection and ability to connect campers with Christ through stories and valuable conversations. Many of our goals in and out of the arena connect in the heart and on the horse: instilling confidence, an improved sense of self-worth, and a desire to know the Lord. All in all, understanding their value in a God so great is the very best thing to see them learn!
“I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for he is right beside me.” Psalm 16:8
