The Generosity and Understanding of Jesus

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

-Hebrews 4:16 NLT

Take time to listen to these words. Read, speak and own them. These words are for you and me.

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.

-Hebrews 4:14 NLT.

The High Priest is the one who intercedes between God and the people. Jesus, became this for us through His death and resurrection. You and I, as God’s children, have Jesus interceding for us.

Hold firmly to what we believe. Be in God’s word. Encourage and speak truth to each other. Let love live abundantly through our lives. Have faith even in overwhelming circumstances. Hold firmly.

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

-Hebrews 4:15 NLT.

Jesus totally understands our weaknesses. Yours and mine. He is the only one to ever live who faced all weakness and testing without sinning. I am following him.

Jesus understands you. It is easy to hold God off, because we believe a simple lie: “God doesn’t understand what I am going through!” The truth is, Jesus completely understands. There is not one aspect of temptation, brokenness, weakness, or sin that he has not faced or dealt with. There is no one more understanding of you and me than Jesus.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

-Hebrews 4:16 NLT.

Because of Jesus, you and I are able to come before God and receive two incredible things: God’s mercy and God’s grace. His mercy is freedom from the judgement due us, thanks in total to Jesus. His grace is provision to live for Him in a broken and hurting world.

Receive God’s mercy and grace. Come to God and receive. This is the generosity of Jesus in our lives.

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for being our High Priest. Thank you for facing this broken world without sinning. We have sinned. By following You, help us to hold firmly to what we believe. Thank you for understanding us. Thank you for making it possible to receive God’s mercy and grace. In Your precious name Jesus, we pray, Amen.

Through the dynamics of a relationship between horse and rider, a greater understanding ...

Hold on Tight!

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT Have you ever been in a situation where someone told you to hold on tight? ...
