The Power of Community
Volunteers play a key role in the Warm Beach Camp community and have since its beginnings. In 2019 volunteers donated over 40,000 hours of their time to keep the grounds looking beautiful, to help run programs, to maintain the heard for horses, and so much more.
Warm Beach Camp volunteers often come intending only to stay for a month or two but end up staying for years. When I ask them why, their reply is, “Because it feels like home.”
“I volunteer at Warm Beach Camp because I enjoy being a part of the Camp family and the mutual love and sense of community,” says Ron, a long-term volunteer at Camp.
Everyone longs for relationships and connection. Warm Beach strives to make every volunteer feel like they are part of the family. Once a volunteer starts working at Camp they are welcomed into the community and included in important camp communication pieces, invited to staff events, and staff break-times.
“I love working with other volunteers and staff members that have a heart for folks and for service to the Lord like I do,” says Carrie, a long-term volunteer.
We share in each other’s joys and pains. We pray and grieve together. Warm Beach Camp celebrates our volunteers not just for their service but for who they are and all they teach us. Volunteers are a wealth of knowledge and have a unique perspective. Their insights and contributions grow the Camp into more of a thriving community every day.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the past, present, and future volunteers of Warm Beach Camp!
