Update on funding for Cedar Lodge
October 30, 2009
WBC has been awarded a $490,000 completion grant for this effort. To claim this grant, we need to have the rest of the funding identified through cash, pledges and gifts in kind. We have been asking the WBC community to make a special commitment to underwrite the remaining funding, to be paid over the next four years. We need all commitments identified by early December to claim the completion grant.
We have gone from needing $590,000 down to $38,000 to complete the funding. The need is compelling, the challenge daunting, but the opportunity is great. Please consider making a four-year commitment to completing the funding for the Cedar Lodge project.
For more informationemail the Development Department, or call at 360-652-7575, Seattle 425-743-5471, in state toll-free 800-228-6724.
Cedar Lodge is the building that serves as the center of our hospitality for gathering, food and fellowship. As WBC is growing in serving people with special needs, specialized diets, and disabilities it is essential to complete three phases of upgrades:
establish ADA restrooms on the main floor of Cedar Lodge,
expand the kitchen to meet the dietary needs of people today,
improve the meeting room in Cedar lodge to better serve the variety of meeting formats required today.

Here are some words of guidance for times of trouble from a very wise person. IN TIME OF TROUBLE SAY: FIRST- He brought me here-it is by His will I am in this strait place; in that will I rest. NEXT- He will keep me in His love, and give me grace in this trial to behave as His child. THEN- He will make the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He means me to learn, and working in ...
“Don’t you want to retire so you can do all the things you’ve ever dreamed about?” It’s a question that I’ve been asked a lot. My answer, “I have gotten to do way more than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams these last 50 years in Christian Camping!” Little did we realize what was ahead when my husband, Stan, was finishing up his last trek of college education. We were lying on a blanket, soaking up the ...
Before the barn, I felt like I was missing something—like my purpose began and ended with being a mom and a wife. While those roles are sacred, I knew deep down there was more of me waiting to be found. I was searching for myself… learning how to honor my truth, how to listen to my own voice, and how to step into confidence in who I am. Then I found the barn. And slowly, quietly… it began to change ...
