Warm Beach Camp and Play-Well TEKnologies offer camps for LEGO lovers

PlayWell Summer Rotator 041714

For the little engineers and those who just like to put things together, Warm Beach Camp is offering two weeks of summer camp with modules designed to fascinate and delight the LEGO-lovers of the world. Play-Well TEKnologies offers programs at their Activity Center in Kirkland as well as in over 2,000 locations around the country, now including Warm Beach Camp, where young people can explore the world of LEGOs and let their imaginations run wild.

Along with regular camp activities, campers will spend three hours a day exploring the creative possibilities of the LEGO building system with guidance from experienced and enthusiastic Play-Well instructors. Campers will dive into their classes and exercise their innate gift for building and experimenting. Not only will campers begin understanding the fundamental principles of engineering and physics, but they will have amazing fun in the process.

Play-Well harnesses the power of tens of thousands of LEGOs to apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through projects such as arch bridges, skyscrapers, mazes, motorized cars, and more. Campers can explore crazy ideas and discover new ways to get even more fun out of those LEGOs at home. You can count on Play-Well’s amazing instructor-led, play-based curriculum that capitalizes on kiddos’ natural curiosity, as campers work to solve real-world problems through experimentation and exploration.

These camps are scheduled alongside traditional youth camps offering campers the best of both worlds. “We want to offer something for those campers who may ‘like’ Camp but really ‘love’ designing and building,” says, Matt Lambert, Program Director. There will be two engineering camps this year:
Junior Engineering Camp – August 10-15, 2015
Junior High Engineering Camp – August 17-22, 2015

These dates overlap with programs for a wider age range at the same time. This allows families a greater chance to send all their junior and junior high age kids to camp at one time.

God Speaks through Rosie

I have recently been given the opportunity to work with Rosie, one of our newer horses that we are bringing along in training here at the Warm Beach Horsemanship barn. I am always excited to get to know a new horse and their personality. However, it didn’t take long to realize this sweet mare harbored a lot of anxiety and worry. I tried to coax her into calmness with gentleness and patience, but she still didn’t fully trust me. When ...
