Welcome Brightyn Bokare

We are excited to welcome Brightyn Bokare to the Warm Beach Camp Staff as a new Guest Service Coordinator. She comes to us after completing an internship at the Warm Beach Free Methodist Church. After the internship Brightyn and her husband faced a pivotal decision: move back home to Indiana or seek out opportunities in the Pacific Northwest.

“We were debating if we were going to move back home to Indiana… or look for other opportunities in Washington,” Brightyn explained. That’s when a friend from church, mentioned an opening at Warm Beach Camp in Guest Services.

Initially, the timing wasn’t right. “I was interested in January, but [the position] wouldn’t be available till around May. And I was like, man, I don’t think we can wait that long with our rent and everything,” she recalled. Instead, she took a temporary job in youth mentorship and fundraising. After the seasonal job ran its course, the Guest Service role resurfaced, and with it, an opportunity to stay in the Pacific Northwest.

A Leap of Faith

For Brightyn, choosing Warm Beach Camp was not just about employment—it was about trusting that God was leading her in the right direction. “I feel like it was an act of faith because it wasn’t something that was really on our radar, but it just felt like this is where God wants us… and we have faith that He’s leading us,” she said. That leap of faith quickly blossomed into confirmation that Warm Beach Camp was exactly where she was meant to be.

Discovering the Heart of Warm Beach

When asked what stood out the most about Warm Beach Ministries, Brightyn didn’t hesitate: “I love the community aspect—it’s really phenomenal. Within the staff, there seems to be such a communal atmosphere and a heart to really serve.” Coming from a background in food service, Brightyn was struck by the servant-hearted approach she witnessed in her new workplace. She recalled one moment with admiration: “On one of my first days here, there was a last-minute change where the Head Chef, had to make a bunch of box lunches unexpectedly… At first she said it was going to be stressful. But then she came back and said, ‘If this is going to bless them [the guests], I want to do it.’ That really stood out to me.”

For Brightyn, this mindset was a refreshing contrast to past experiences. “It’s really blessed me to know that I work in an environment with a true servant heart… the goal is to serve. And I just think that’s really special”.

Looking Ahead

As Brightyn settles into her new role, she feels both at peace and excited about the future. “It is hard being away from family, but we feel at peace and we’re wanting to settle down here… for the next good while.”
