What Happens the Rest of the Year?

By Eugene Barnes, Director of Guest Services

A question that comes up often while I am working with Mike and Dakota, the draft horse team, as they pull the big wagon around the Tinhorn Town loop during The Lights of Christmas is, “So, what do you do the rest of the year?” I tell them that, as the Director of Guest Services, I have the privilege of working with a different team – Warm Beach Camp’s Guest Service Team.

As a year-round Christian camp and conference center, Warm Beach Camp provides a setting for more than 250 different non-profit groups, schools, and government agencies to come and hold their retreat, conference, or training program. Besides these, the Camp also sponsors nearly 60 different camps and retreats each year.

The Guest Service Team’s goal is to create a distraction-free setting that allows each of these groups to have a successful event. Great service is the cornerstone of Warm Beach Christian Camps and Conference Center, and we believe that our service can make a difference in each group fulfilling the objectives for their organization’s event. From the first phone call to the final evaluation and follow-up, our team does everything we can to help make each event a success.

Why is a weekend or week at Warm Beach Camp so effective? Warm Beach Camp is not home, church or the work place. It is a place unlike anywhere else, a place where people can set aside the daily routine and the hustle-bustle of twenty-first-century life to focus on a common goal, and on one another. In quiet settings, people experience needed relief from daily schedules, valuable time to reflect, and opportunities to strengthen, renew, and form relationships.

I would like to invite you and your group to experience the beauty, diversity, and hospitality that has made Warm Beach a premiere camp, conference, and retreat destination in the Pacific Northwest. Warm Beach Camp’s Guest Service Team would be honored to work with you to create a distraction-free setting that allows you to reach your program objectives. We are here to serve you!

For more information, go to the Facility Rental section of the Warm Beach Camp website, or contact the Guest Services Team at (360) 652-7575 or toll-free within Washington State at 800-228-6724, or you may send an email to Guest Services.

Small Beginnings, Big Outcomes

Jesus uses the smallest of beginnings (mustard seed and yeast) to describe big outcomes. Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.” Jesus also used this illustration: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making ...
