2017 Speakers

150 JoshuaBrooks webJoshua Brooks loves Jesus. Whether he’s preaching, teaching, or writing, his passion is to point people to the life-transforming message of his Savior. He and his wife, Amanda, have been married for twenty years, during which time they’ve served the Warm Beach and Wenatchee Free Methodist churches. Their family, which includes Ariana (18), Karis (16), Glory (14), and Josiah (10) – all have a deep love for the people of Burundi. They lived there in 2014, helping to relaunch the pastoral training school in Mweya. Joshua also serves on the Board of Sister Connection, a ministry to Burundian widows and orphans, and is the author of Playing for an Audience of One. Some of the Brooks family’s favorite past times are eating ice cream, playing games, and laughing together.

Spanglers

Eric and Virginia Spangler have been part of the Pacific Northwest Conference (PNWC) Free Methodist family since 1992. Eric is an ordained elder, has served as associate pastor at Arlington Free Methodist Church (FMC), and as senior pastor at Sedro-Woolley FMC and Lake Stevens/Everett (LifePoint Church). The Spangler’s lived in Indianapolis for five years, where Eric worked at the World Ministry Center as the Director of Mobilization for Free Methodist World Missions, helping send over 50 career missionaries to all the world areas. As the Asia Area Director since June 2014, Eric oversees the missionary team in Asia, partnering with Asian national leaders to build and support strategies to grow the church. Eric works to more purposefully connect FMC-Asia with FMC-USA, building partnerships and connections that will be mutually beneficial. Virginia helps manage the home office and traveling, and offers support and care to Asia ministries and missionaries. Although the Spanglers travel in Asia several months each year, home base for them is the Seattle area to better facilitate an alliance between the church in Asia and the US. Learn More
