Everyone walks through the doors on the first day of Horse Camp with a different experience or expectation of what a week at camp will be like. One particular young lady who attended had recently been transitioned into a new family. She was timid around all the new kids who were at camp with her, and she was very afraid and unsure being around horses. Over ...

Sign of an open heart…

Sometimes people get hit so hard in life that their heart and emotions simply close up and become hard, defensive and protective of self at almost any cost. If you are in this situation, or helping someone in this situation, there are two things to know: Just one meaningful connection: It only takes one meaningful connection between a person with a closed heart and someone or something else to begin to open up the heart again. ONLY ONE. The connection ...

Clean, Renewable Energy at Warm Beach Camp

Warm Beach Camp and Conference Center welcomes the New Year with a brand new solar power system on the flagship building, Cedar Lodge. This solar system quietly generates clean electricity through a 9.6 kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) system mounted on the southwest-facing Cedar Lodge roof. This system connects to the Snohomish County PUD power grid. Electricity generation from the system reduces the energy Warm Beach Camp purchases from PUD. This connection also allows the Camp to feed power back into ...

Love is stronger than…

When we think of strength and power, images and ideas of being a super power or a super hero often come to mind. Our conversation trends towards great acts of might. We also use strength to describe the child who is “strong willed” or the outstanding athlete. And, we talk about the person with a strong mind as one who is smart and/or overly opinionated. The Bible talks about a strength that is stronger and more effective than any other ...

3 days to see… creation + Dessert Matinee Giveaway

3 days to see... creation Earlier this fall I spent a week in the Olympic Rain Forest in Washington State camping and hiking with my oldest son. What I learned as a horse camper

By Ruthann Goodrich My time spent as a horse camper were some of my favorite childhood memories. Each summer, I would wait in anticipation for my week of horse camp, packing my bags far in advance before I would go. I could not wait to spend a week with horses, staff, and fun all day long. I started going to horse camp as young as I was allowed, all the way through high school, and then worked as a Jr. ...

The Power of Camp

By Joyce Zeigen, Warm Beach Camp Store Manager A cabin of boys came as part of a big group, already aware of who the “problem” was. They made it pretty obvious by their attitude and comments toward him. Their camp counselor, Simba, could see how the camper’s antics got him labeled as a problem. So Simba decided to take action, using the power of words and the heart of Christ. Instead of thinking of this camper as a problem, he ...
