Supervised school support in a place of abundant joy – Camp!

School at Camp is a safe child care option for elementary and middle school age children that has supervised virtual learning combined with the fun of outdoor breaks and camp activities. Parents can maintain work and outside commitments knowing their children are well cared for by trained staff dedicated to their child’s development. Children Kindergarten through 8th grade will find support for their education, positive friendships, and time to enjoy outdoor fun. Located on the beautiful campus of Warm Beach Camp, 4.5 miles south of Stanwood, School at Camp offers working parents a great environment for their kids to learn, play, and grow.

The supervision of school, the fun of camp, the support to thrive!

Your child’s learning and well-being is the highest priority. Each day campers are assisted in their assigned distance learning coursework from their school. Staff help as needed with logging in to their classes, keeping up with their teacher’s assigned schedule, and understanding assignments as they are able.

Participants have age-group activity rotations to enhance learning. Includes outdoor time, nature exploration, and camp-style games.

School at Camp will follow the county guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19. It offers a welcoming place for each child to learn and adds hands-on learning and outside fun every child needs to grow.

Dates and Pricing

Monthly sessions coordinate with the Stanwood-Camano School District calendar.
Students from all school districts are welcome to participate.

Full-time Weeks run Monday – Friday
8:00am – 4:30pm

Part-time Options Run from Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday

8:00am - 4:30pm

Students bring their own lunch. Refrigeration is available. A daily, nut-free snack will be provided. Bringing additional snacks is optional.

Tier Pricing for 2020- Realizing families have different abilities to pay, Warm Beach Camp now has a three-tier fee structure to meet everyone's needs. Tiers 1 & 2 apply scholarship funds.

COVID-19 Impact Support: If students must quarantine at home due to potential COVID-19 exposure or they contract the virus and can no longer attend School at Camp, Warm Beach Camp will refund any unused days.

Parents are encouraged to meet our staff at check-in. Due to COVID policies, to maintain the health and safety of the campers during the program, only assigned staff and campers are allowed inside the program areas at this time.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found items are collected by staff and held by our Accommodations Department. Please email Lost and Found, or call 800.228.6724 and say, "Lost and Found." Leave detailed information about lost items, what camp/week your child attended, and your contact information.

FAQ

Will there be school instruction or tutoring?

Our program is not intended to be a substitute for the camper's school experience. Our staff's main priority is to help campers be successful with their online learning and to provide encouragement, fun, and support through the process. Staff may be able to assist with school work though they are not trained as tutors.

What will the children be doing during age-group activity and outdoor time?

During the day our priority is to help the campers be successful with their online learning. Campers will have opportunities throughout the day for age-group activities, recess and outside play, outdoor learning, and camp-style group games. Our desire is to allow space to learn and play away from their computers or other devices.

When will they be doing the age-group activities and outdoor time?

The campers will have set times to log-on to their classes and spend time on any assigned work from their teachers based on the Stanwood/Camano School District's class schedule (kids from all school districts are welcome to register). All additional camp activities, outside time, and camp-style games are scheduled around grade level schedules. Each grade level has the opportunity for 3 hours of activities during the day.

What training do your staff have?

All staff working directly with campers are trained in First Aid and CPR and our organization's specific Child Protection Plan and Emergency Procedures. Additionally, staff have training for their specific role or responsibility.

Can parents come and see the program area and meet the staff?

Parents are encouraged to meet the staff during check-in or check-out. Our COVID-19 prevention policies allow only program specific staff and campers in the program area, so at this time, we are unable to give tours of our program space.

What if school reopens for in-school learning? Will I be able to get a refund?

We are paying close attention to the school district's plans to re-introduce in-person learning and intend to do our best to keep our program lined up with the school district's schedule. We will evaluate pricing and schedules as needed.

Can we sign up for individual days on camp?

At this point registration is for all days of the program session. You are welcome to only utilize the days you need but we are unable to provide a discount.

Can we pick up our kids for 1/2 days and pay for 1/2 days?

You are welcome to pick up your kids for a half-day if needed though we are unable to adjust pricing. Communicate with program staff if you need to adjust pick-up times.

Can we get a list of snacks ahead of time?

Yes. Inquire with program staff at check-in or check-out.

Is there a nurse on site?

There is not, although all our staff working directly with kids are trained in First Aid and CPR.

Lindsey has always loved playing outdoors. She started on the Challenge Course at Warm Beach Camp in 2007, and found her passion. After working locally and abroad with numerous youth and outdoor organizations, she graduated in 2012 from Trinity Lutheran College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Children, Youth & Family Studies, focusing on Outdoor Leadership. Lindsey believes in the transformative power of outdoor experiences and is excited to serve as the Youth & Outdoor Ministries Director.
