Help in the Challenges

Luke 24:13-16 NLT “[13] That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. [14] As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. [15] As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. [16] But God kept them from recognizing him.” https://bible.com/bible/116/luk.24.13.NLT

God, I did not recognize You!

One of God’s ways of approaching us is to simply meet us where we are in our lives.  He just shows up and starts walking with us.  This is exactly what Jesus did with these two on their seven-mile walk. Even before God revealed Jesus to them, Jesus was there, helping them sort through the most challenging of situations.

Reflection

God gives us a gift by revealing to us who He is when we are ready to receive Him.  When we receive Him, there is often an awareness that emerges of Him being with us before we even recognize His involvement in our lives. He doesn’t wait for us to recognize Him before He helps us.

Encouragement

God is walking with you right now.  In His timing, He will reveal to You His presence in your life.  Don’t worry, if you are listening and looking, you will not miss Him.  He loves You. He wants you to know that He is with you!

Prayer

Dear Holy Spirit,

Thank You for being with us, even when we did not know it was You.

Thank You for revealing God’s presence in our lives when we are not even looking.

Thank You for helping us before we realize it is You!

In Your name, Jesus, we pray,

Amen

A season of Lent began by  “taking a walk of the soul”  with 11 other colleagues and friends.  Our trail guides were Andy and Janet Kerr.  You may learn more about how to take a walk of your own with them as your trail guides here:   https://emmausencounter.org/  They are trail guides extraordinaire.

God Speaks through Rosie

I have recently been given the opportunity to work with Rosie, one of our newer horses that we are bringing along in training here at the Warm Beach Horsemanship barn. I am always excited to get to know a new horse and their personality. However, it didn’t take long to realize this sweet mare harbored a lot of anxiety and worry. I tried to coax her into calmness with gentleness and patience, but she still didn’t fully trust me. When ...
