A Place of Safety & Refuge

Port Susan Bay at Warm Beach Camp and Conference Center

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.

At Warm Beach Camp there is a baby grand piano sitting in the corner of Cedar Lodge Chapel with a spectacular view of the beauty of Port Susan Bay and the Stillaguamish River farmlands. I have played, prayed, and poured out my soul and sang to the Lord since I was in middle school in this very place. A place of safety and refuge.

Warm Beach Camp is one of those rare places that reflects the beauty of who God is in the midst of a broken and hurting world. Some call Warm Beach the “thin place” where heaven and earth have an especially close connection. People come away from the challenges life is serving, with a renewed sense of God:

God is powerful. People are able to reconnect with a sense of His work in their lives. New strength carries on from a fresh encounter with God.

God’s love is unfailing. Often people reclaim the truth that God loves them all the time, no matter how hard life gets.

God is a refuge. Warm Beach Camp reminds people to endure in the refuge God provides as the world rages in confusion and chaos. Coming to a place of refuge is a huge gift in understanding God as a refuge.

God is a place of safety. People long and need to feel safe in relationships. Often today, this is not the case. By experiencing safety through a stay at Warm Beach Camp, people are reminded of the incredible safety God is in the lives of His children.

Warm Beach Camp seeks to draw people to God by reminding everyone that God is worth giving songs and words of gratitude and joy to daily. He is with us now. God’s love really is unfailing. He is powerful in all situations. He is trustworthy. We are never alone. God is a refuge and a place of safety.

Come spend time at Warm Beach Camp and be reminded of how incredible God is.

With gratitude in Christ,

God Speaks through Rosie

I have recently been given the opportunity to work with Rosie, one of our newer horses that we are bringing along in training here at the Warm Beach Horsemanship barn. I am always excited to get to know a new horse and their personality. However, it didn’t take long to realize this sweet mare harbored a lot of anxiety and worry. I tried to coax her into calmness with gentleness and patience, but she still didn’t fully trust me. When ...
