Horses: Life Impact

If you have ever felt a horse’s warm breath on your skin or breathed in their scent as you hugged their neck while laying your head on their side, you will know that horses have a way of reaching deep into your soul. They bringing comfort to places in your heart that may be buried under layers of grief, bitterness, rejection, fear, or hurt. Our goal at Warm Beach Horsemanship is to provide as many opportunities as possible for people in our community to experience the impact of connecting with a horse.

One of the unique things about the Warm Beach Horsemanship Program is that we serve such a variety of people. We have students ranging in ages from 4 to 80; with physical abilities ranging from able-bodied to wheelchair-bound; those from broken families; foster and adopted children; and those learning skills to assist in navigating mental health, autism and ADHD. Through serving these incredible students we see the healing power of horses and community, and we are blessed to support and witness the strength, persistence, and courage they demonstrate throughout the lesson session.

Horses and horsemanship teach an abundance of life lessons including trust, team building, relational skills, character, cooperation, camaraderie, and communication. Horses don’t judge by the clothes we wear, where we come from, or the experiences we have had. They just see the human in front of them in that moment- someone in need of love, someone going through a tough time, or someone ready for adventure. As the connection grows between a horse and participant we see the beauty of healing, trust and relationship that develops, and we know this moment in time will have a life-long impact.

The Warm Beach horses are partners in the ministry that occurs here daily, and it is of utmost importance they are cared for in a way that shows how much they are treasured. Would you partner with us by helping fund the annual vaccinations the horses need to keep healthy?

God Speaks through Rosie

I am always excited to get to know a new horse and their personality. However, it didn’t take long to realize this sweet mare harbored a lot of anxiety and worry. I tried to coax her into calmness with gentleness and patience, but she still didn’t fully trust me. When ...
