A Fond Farewell to Margie Keane

After over 20 years of service in the Warm Beach Camp Business Office, Margie Keane is retiring! She first came to Camp in 1986 as Margie Henry, working in Accounts Payable. But after a couple of years, she got a better offer! An offer of marriage, that is, to her husband, Dan Keane. But that was not the end of it! In 2003, several kids and 17 years later, Margie returned to Warm Beach to serve full-time in the Business Office.

During her time at Camp, she enjoyed serving as a support to such a dynamic ministry. “I get to do what I can with the gifts God gave me to be a part of the bigger picture,” Margie shared. She went on to say that one of the many highlights has been The Lights of Christmas and how it brings joy to the community. Margie also loved being a part of the staff. She has fond memories of staff retreats and spending time getting to know one another. She will miss seeing the staff on a day-to-day basis but plans to come back occasionally as a volunteer!

Margie is looking forward to having more time with her family in retirement. She and her husband, Dan, have made a retirement bucket list! It includes plans to see the grandkids, volunteer, rest, travel, and hike. She is looking forward to exploring some creative things and perhaps taking up a new hobby. While her time will look different, her heart to serve God, however He calls, is stronger than ever.

Margie has served faithfully at Warm Beach and is known for her patience and kindness to everyone she worked with. We will miss her greatly but are excited about all that God has for her and Dan in this next season.

Small Beginnings, Big Outcomes

Jesus uses the smallest of beginnings (mustard seed and yeast) to describe big outcomes. Here is another illustration Jesus used: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches.” Jesus also used this illustration: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making ...
