Fight Good and Hold Tight

“Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12 NLT

Paul is writing to Timothy a letter of encouragement and instruction. The center of this chapter is to stay focused on the core teachings of Jesus.

Paul uses the imagery of fighting and holding on to communicate the focus and resolve this takes.

Reflection

  • Following God and sharing the truth of eternal life given to us by God through Jesus Christ is something God has called Timothy to. In some ways, it is the call of everyone who follows Christ.
  • At the heart of Paul’s encouragement is to stay focused on this. Lots of other issues will come up that will seek to confuse things. Don’t get distracted by these things.
  • Use your money to help others know and receive the life God offers. Be generous about it.
  • Use your standing in life to encourage others in knowing and growing in Christ. This is the priority.
  • Stay away from trivial arguments and debates on matters of opinion about faith.

Encouragement

Focus life on helping others know God through Jesus Christ. All issues are processed through the lens of receiving and growing in the life God has given us to be with Him forever.

Prayer

Dear God,
Thank You for reminding us to fight for and hold on tight to the faith You have given us. Thank You for reminding us to use everything about our life to help people accept Your eternal life through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

Meet Adriene, the new Disabilities Ministries Coordinator

Warm Beach Camp is excited to announce Adriene Duguay as the Developmental Disabilities Ministries Coordinator! Adriene was born and raised in Shoreline, Washington, and graduated with a degree in Psychology from Trinity Western University in British Columbia. Adriene has diverse work experience ranging from working housekeeping at Seattle Pacific University to working in a hockey shop to, most recently, working at a day camp.
