Help in the Challenges

Luke 24:13-16 NLT “[13] That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. [14] As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. [15] As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. [16] But God kept them from recognizing him.”

God, I did not recognize You!

One of God’s ways of approaching us is to simply meet us where we are in our lives.  He just shows up and starts walking with us.  This is exactly what Jesus did with these two on their seven-mile walk. Even before God revealed Jesus to them, Jesus was there, helping them sort through the most challenging of situations.

God gives us a gift by revealing to us who He is when we are ready to receive Him.  When we receive Him, there is often an awareness that emerges of Him being with us before we even recognize His involvement in our lives. He doesn’t wait for us to recognize Him before He helps us.

God is walking with you right now.  In His timing, He will reveal to You His presence in your life.  Don’t worry, if you are listening and looking, you will not miss Him.  He loves You. He wants you to know that He is with you!

Dear Holy Spirit,

Thank You for being with us, even when we did not know it was You.

Thank You for revealing God’s presence in our lives when we are not even looking.

Thank You for helping us before we realize it is You!

In Your name, Jesus, we pray,
