Planning and Purpose

You can make many plans, but the Lord ’s purpose will prevail.

Proverbs 19:21 NLT

Planning is an important part of life. It encourages engagement with others, reflection on what is, what needs to be, and how to get there. By nature, planning is a process and continuous.

Our planning is different than God’s purpose. Planning describes how we envision getting from point A to point B in our lives. God’s purpose is what He is going to accomplish in our lives.

Planning, when submitted to God, keeps His purposes in front of us all the time.

The really good news in all of this is “The Lord’s Purpose Will Prevail.” Many of my plans have not gone as planned. Yet, God has continued to work His purposes in my life. He is amazing.

Encouragement: Take time to plan. Engage other people in planning with you. Seek good counsel. Understand that your plans will change. Rest is knowing that God’s purposes for you will not change.

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, Thank You for what You show us about Your prevailing purposes through planning.  Thank You for being so faithful in our lives.  In Your name Jesus, Amen.

Through the dynamics of a relationship between horse and rider, a greater understanding ...

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT Have you ever been in a situation where someone told you to hold on tight? ...
