Project Updates
A new wheel chair accessible mounting station was built for the Therapeutic Horsemanship program, thanks to Synergy Construction, Dunn Lumber, and Stanwood Redi Mix. Now our program can truly serve the needs of our participants.
Cross-ties are being installed at the Stables, replacing the old tie stalls. These will improve convenience and supervision of the tacking process.
New convection ovens were installed in the kitchen replacing items that were over 30 years old. Many thanks to our generous donors. The next upgrade for Food Services are new hot boxes which will keep food hot between the kitchen and serving areas.
The new canoe dock arrives this month. It will provide improved safety and convenience for our canoeing guests.
New covered storage is being built at the maintenance shop to meet the growing needs of The Lights of Christmas program. This project also results in more parking spaces in the shop yard and a much cleaner and more professional appearance.
Two staff cottages are getting work done, making them ready for occupancy. If anyone would like to assist with interior or exterior painting, we can use some more help.
Several cords of firewood was cut on Saturday, June 9. Thanks to the H.U.G.E. Men of God ministry for bringing guys to do the work. We use nearly 20 cords of wood a year! We need all the help we can get keeping our amphitheaters and fire pits well-stocked.
Cascadian Lodge improvements, Mountain Cabin roofing, and Whistler bathroom improvements will go on throughout the summer and early fall, as facilities and workers can be scheduled.
Volunteer assistance is needed for gardening, lawn mowing, carpentry, and painting throughout the summer and fall. Please e-mail Faith Oates for details or call 360-761-1267.
