Welcome Matt Pfiffner, the new General Manager!
Warm Beach Camp is excited to announce the new General Manager, Matt Pfiffner!
Matt grew up in the Kent/Renton area and attended Kent View Christian School on the grounds of Black Diamond, formerly Camp Berachah. He then attended Trinity Western University in British Columbia, spending his summers working for Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. He graduated from Trinity Western University with a bachelor’s in psychology and biblical studies and went on to earn a master’s in biblical studies. After graduation, Matt transitioned to a full-time position at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, running an elementary after-school program, a highlight of which was taking youth on 3-day camp experiences, often to Warm Beach Camp.
Matt then accepted a job at Seattle Pacific University overseeing the residence building Emerson Hall. While content and enjoying his time at Seattle Pacific University, Matt knew it would not be a forever job. While job searching, Camping Ministry kept coming to mind, and when he saw the General Manager position open, he and his wife Sarah prayed about it and decided to apply. Matt felt intrigued by the intentionality and growth potential within the job and was impressed and drawn to the strong sense of mission at Warm Beach Camp in keeping the path clear to the cross.
Matt’s life mission is to build and encourage others in faith, and through his role here, Matt is passionate about investing in the staff while keeping the focus on God and the Kingdom. When asked how he and his wife Sarah are settling into Camp life, Matt said, “Both Sarah and I are so excited to be here and have already been blessed by the community’s support when everyone came to help move us in. I have been taking a photo of the sunrise or sunset from the windows of Cedar Lodge lobby every day and sending it to my mom to show her where I work. I feel so blessed to be here.”
When Matt is not working, he enjoys going on walks with his wife, watching old sitcoms and Seahawks and Mariners games, playing board games, and is an avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy. He also enjoys cycling and is looking forward to finding bike routes in the local area once winter is over.
Welcome to the team, Matt! Warm Beach Camp is praising God for this long-awaited answer to prayer!
