5 Rainy Day Activities at Camp

Here in the PNW, we are no strangers to rain. For three quarters of the year, we are overjoyed at the slightest hint of vitamin D. While outdoor beauty abounds at Warm Beach Camp, sometimes it can also feel like a gallon of water is constantly being poured over your head while you’re enjoying the view. But, if the forecast calls for rain during your stay here, you don’t need to fear, because here are 5 rainy day activities sure to engage your group!

1. Indoor Team Building

Team building is the amazing experience of growing your group through situational exercises and puzzles. Many of these activities are done inside just as easily as outside. Your group can have fun, grow closer, and stretch their comfort zone even on a rainy day. Inquire about teambuilding when booking your event with the Guest Service team!

2. Open gym

The Program Center at Warm Beach Camp features an indoor carpeted basketball court. It’s great for a wide variety of activities. Your group can enjoy basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, or other creative uses of the large indoor space. Ask the Guest Service team about utilizing the Program Center Auditorium during your stay.

3. Puzzles, board games, and snacks

Warm Beach Camp has a selection of board games and puzzles for your group to enjoy upon request. You are also welcome to bring any of your own games or puzzles to enjoy during your stay. Puzzles and games can be just as useful as adventure activities in growing your group culture and relationships. Many of the common areas across the grounds or in your specific lodging are perfect for games and puzzles. It’s always a great idea to elevate the experience with your own snacks you can prepare beforehand or make a quick run into town if needed!

4. Movie night

When it’s cold and wet outside what’s better than cozying up with a blanket, some popcorn or other snacks, and a movie?  Many of the gathering spaces at Warm Beach Camp are also ideal for movie nights. If a movie night sounds fun for your group, make sure to bring some options and ask the Guest Service team about utilizing a tv or projector somewhere when you’re booking.

5. Archery Tag

It may sound crazy, but archery tag actually makes a wildly fun indoor activity! There are a few areas on grounds where it can be done very well! If your group is wanting a thrill, but the weather isn’t cooperating, Archery Tag could be the perfect activity to meet your needs. Ask about utilizing Archery Tag when booking your event.

Your group deserves the space to grow, relax, and have fun. The weather doesn’t determine whether or not that happens at Warm Beach Camp. The versatile facilities and hardworking, flexible staff are here to make sure your event is a hit regardless of the conditions outside!

Quietly Faithful: Remembering Gary Kocher

Throughout Warm Beach Camp’s history, certain individuals have come along who perfectly encapsulate what it is to be a servant of Christ. Gary Kocher was one of those people. He dedicated his life to humbly glorifying God, serving others, and diligently carrying out the work that was entrusted to him. Let us now revisit the impact that Gary has had on Warm Beach Camp (WBC). Gary Kocher was a volunteer youth leader in the Pacific Northwest Conference of the Free ...

A Different Place for Different Needs

If you walk around the Warm Beach Camp (WBC) grounds during a specific week in the spring, there’s a good chance you’ll hear beautiful music pouring out of almost every meeting room. The Northwest Big Band takes over much of the main conference center grounds and floods the space with their sweet melodies during their time at WBC. “It’s so peaceful here,” One of the group’s leaders, Kate Erb, said, “so our participants can focus on their music and their ...
