Horses Bring Hope

Warm Beach Horsemanship is one of the few programs at Camp that can follow CDC guidelines and remain open, providing a place of hope and healing during these challenging times. Due to the restrictions caused by COVID-19 many people’s lives have been thrown into turmoil. Things we once took for granted have been stripped away from us, however amidst this turmoil there is HOPE…

Those missing physical touch can wrap their arms around a horse and feel the comfort that comes from an embrace. Words cannot express the joy and healing that comes from a deep connection with a horse.

Those who miss friends can find community and camaraderie in seeing the other students in their lesson group each week, while maintaining safe distancing of course. We were not made to be alone or to face life’s struggles without support; we need connection with others.

Those who are facing overwhelming stress can find a moment of freedom as they slow down and do something they enjoy. Being with a horse and taking in the breathtaking beauty of God’s creation here seems to make time stand still. Having the chance to pause and breathe provides refreshment, renewal, and the strength to continue on.

Those who are struggling emotionally or mentally can find a safe place that offers support and encouragement. Here you are seen, here you are valued, here you are respected, and here you are loved. The staff and horses partner together to lift the spirits of all who come to the Warm Beach Stables.

Those who are looking for new experiences can learn how to ride a horse through the many programs offered. Warm Beach Horsemanship provides lessons in horse care, western riding, English riding, jumping, horse-assisted learning, therapeutic riding, and therapeutic vaulting.

If you are seeking ways to find connection, purpose, hope or healing consider joining the Warm Beach Horsemanship “family” by registering for lessons. https://www.warmbeach.com/camps/horsemanship/

God Speaks through Rosie

I have recently been given the opportunity to work with Rosie, one of our newer horses that we are bringing along in training here at the Warm Beach Horsemanship barn. I am always excited to get to know a new horse and their personality. However, it didn’t take long to realize this sweet mare harbored a lot of anxiety and worry. I tried to coax her into calmness with gentleness and patience, but she still didn’t fully trust me. When ...
