A Very Good Thing

When I gaze upon the beauty of a PNW sunset from my outlook at the stables. God’s faithfulness and provision are ever-present. His evidence abounds. The evergreen trees and lush green pastures withstand record breaking heat of summer, buffeting high winds of fall and bitter cold in winter. They remain the backdrop for the life-giving ministry between horses and people and give testimony to the work the Lord has laid before us at the stables. Beautiful fruit is being shaped in the lives of students, volunteers, staff, and horses. Whether in a riding lesson, summer camp, adaptive riding, vaulting or equine assisted learning, clients experience and practice love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control with their equine partners. All are working together for their good and ultimately God’s glory.

As we enter a new season, we are reminded of God’s enduring love and our trust in His faithful provision. Throughout the pandemic He sustained us and brought us through with increasing clarity, resolve and commitment to serve the community. We trust He will continue to bring the people and resources needed to help this program thrive. We give thanks continually for the Lord and His people who support the Horsemanship program through prayer, financial gifts, volunteering, and enrollment in classes. We are truly blessed. The Lord is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. We trust He has our best interest in mind and when He opens a door, it stays open. His enduring love has brought us this far, we know He will teach us, guide us, and show us the way. Through this program people find breakthrough, freedom, confidence, and validation. The Lord has begun a good thing. His enduring love lasts forever. We trust He will see it through to completion. Come and see what the Lord is doing. It is a very good thing!

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose trust is the LORD.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
-Jeremiah 17:7-8

God Speaks through Rosie

I have recently been given the opportunity to work with Rosie, one of our newer horses that we are bringing along in training here at the Warm Beach Horsemanship barn. I am always excited to get to know a new horse and their personality. However, it didn’t take long to realize this sweet mare harbored a lot of anxiety and worry. I tried to coax her into calmness with gentleness and patience, but she still didn’t fully trust me. When ...
