The Delight of God
“No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.” -Psalms 147:11 NLT

The Delight of God (spoiler alert: it’s you!)
The writer of Psalms 147 makes three things clear:
- God provides for His created world.
- God responds to the needs of His children.
- He is not impressed by our own means of strength and power.
There is one more thing God wants us to experience and know: …the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in His unfailing love.
Simply put: You are God’s delight when:
- You come to God with deep respect, awe, and trust.
- You put all of your hope into the care of His unfailing love.
Reflection
Delight means to please someone greatly and/or to bring someone great pleasure.
Have you ever considered that you please God greatly and you bring Him great pleasure?
The truth is, that is exactly what happens when you worship God and place all of your trust in Him!
Encouragement
Please know that God provides for His created world. Have confidence in God’s response to the needs of His children (you). Don’t place any confidence in your means of strength and power.
Experience God’s delight in you. Give Him the respect and worship due Him. Trust Him with everything.
Do this and you will know the delight of God in your life.
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank You for reminding us of Your delight in us when we give You the devotion and worship due to You. Thank You for reminding us of Your delight in us when we place all of our hope in Your unfailing love.
Now, help us to receive Your great pleasure in us.
In the name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen
