Meet Our Staff–The Lamberts

By Joanie Yonker, Executive Assistant When Matt and Emily Lambert "tied the knot," little did they know the rich heritage they were building at Warm Beach Camp. Matt grew up attending camps at Warm Beach. His grandfather was a pastor in the Free Methodist Conference and Matt's father came here as a child, growing up and enjoying Warm Beach Camp in its infancy. Matt became a Warm Beach camper early in life, attending Junior Camp at Chinook and Junior High ...

Director’s Column

A Time for Community ... As I visit with people every day about how they are navigating the times, one thing stands out very clear: We are meant to go through this time together. Here are "seven points of perspective" for you to consider: God longs for us to seek Him and draw close. We long to do the same with God, whether we recognize it or not. The best way to work through challenging times is together, not alone. ...

A Program in God’s Time

By Jessica Beach, Volunteer Coordinator Every once in a while, God makes Himself and His timing unmistakably known. This certainly was the case one day this past January when I met Debbie Clymer for the first time. Debbie, a speech therapist, was interested in exploring volunteer options at Warm Beach Camp, so she came to meet with me to discuss possibilities. As we talked, I learned that Debbie had time available to serve, was very eager to help, and was ...

Seven Reasons to Die Without a Will

By Darrell Weiland, Warm Beach Camp Foundation Director There must be some great reasons to avoid having a will because so many people die without one. In case you happen to be one of the seven out of 10 (70%) who will depart this earth without a will, I have compiled seven reasons to support your position. You can use these to help you "sleep" at night. 1. The court can do a much better job of deciding how to ...

The Lights of Christmas — A Winter Wonderland

Keith Yarter, Sr., The Lights of Christmas Director It was interesting how many times during December I heard the songs, White Christmas and Winter Wonderland on the radio. It seemed that those two songs were the only ones being played throughout the season. I know that is not true, but when you experience a season like The Lights of Christmas of 2008, you begin to wonder. Yes, it was a challenging season with 11 days of snow, ice and cold ...

Preparing for Worldwide Christian Service

By Jessica Beach, Volunteer Coordinator A collective roar of laughter went up from the staff dining room as Priyanke, an intern at Warm Beach Camp, told the story in staff break of how Rob Down, the Camp's Construction Manager, had to rescue him and his boots from certain calamity.Earlier in the day, the two had been down in the horse pasture digging fence post holes in a torrential downpour which turned the fields into a virtual bog. Priyanke, having positioned ...
