WBC is Home to Professional Training Programs

by Eugene Barnes, Guest Services Director

One morning in February, as I taught a class on “How to Drive a Team of Draft Horses,” I realized that we had three separate professional training programs going on here at Warm Beach Camp, all at the same time.

I was involved with a Certified Horsemanship Association Regional Conference where close to 100 professional riding instructors were participating in four days of professional horsemanship training. Participants came from all over the Northwest, including Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Canada, to participate in hands-on classes that were designed to better equip them as group riding instructors.

During this same week, Warm Beach Camp’s Recreation Department was hosting a Challenge Course Training Program. The twelve participants spent their days learning how to facilitate initiative training, plus climbing tower and high ropes facilitating. There were several camps and recreation organizations represented at this training.

That same day, the North American Addiction Training Institute program was just wrapping up. During this two-day program, over 300 mental health professionals attended comprehensive training in alcohol and drug abuse prevention and treatment.

Other professional training programs held at Warm Beach Camp within the last 12 months include the Department of Natural Resources, Girl Scout Leaders Archery Training, Snohomish County Human Services, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Red Cross Life Guard Training, Washington Cosmetology School Owners, Washington State Parks Law Enforcement, Washington Vocational Services, and the W.S.U. Extension – Clothing and Textile Advisors.

For more information about holding a government, public school or non-profit Professional Training Program or any other type of event at Warm Beach Camp, please call our Guest Services Staff, or email the Guest Services Department. The Camp can provide your organization with a convenient location, reasonable rates, and the facilities and resources to make your next training program a success.

Storing Treasure

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be." Matthew 6:19-21 NLT There was a time in life where Bev and I bid on abandoned storage units.  We did it with our good friends, Jim ...

Pony Club Rallies

Warm Beach Horsemanship proudly presents its pony clubbers with the opportunity to test their skills in the educational atmosphere of Pony Club rallies. Rallies are designed to foster young athletes in the areas, including but not limited to, showmanship, teamwork, horse care, and sportsmanship. Riders compete in a “horse show” environment where they are judged for their performance and evaluated for their skills in horse care, organization, grooming and turnout. The process is designed to thoroughly prepare competitors for the ...
