Warm Beach Camp’s ministry is about connecting people with God, one another, and all of creation.

Welcome Dwight Vlach, New Volunteer Coordinator

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Dwight, our new Volunteer Coordinator! Many of you will recognize Dwight who also serves as our Accommodations Manager. Dwight and his wife, Cheryl, joined Warm Beach Camp thirty-four years ago in 1987 and had three children while on staff; Jonathan, Joshua & Janie. They have recently welcomed daughters-in-law, Trisha and Tasha, and are grateful to see all of their children established and doing well as young adults.  When asked “What do you love about working at Warm Beach Camp?” Dwight answered “I am ...

Blessings Big and Small

To see Warm Beach Camp empty at a time of year when it would normally be flooded with guests and campers is an odd sight. The past four months at the Camp have been challenging to say the least. Camp staff have made drastic adjustments at work to adapt to government requirements and the lack of revenue the Camp is experiencing. But, in all of this we have seen God’s blessing and provision every day. The blessings come in big ...

What Your Gifts Mean

Do you know the impact your gifts have on God's actions through Warm Beach Camp? You are helping keep the promise of lifting up the good news of Jesus Christ to everyone who comes here. Take time to listen to what God is doing: “Two of the most important decisions I have made about following Jesus have been made here at Warm Beach Camp.”  Ministry Leader in the Pacific Northwest “Such a lovely and calm gathering place for spiritual reflection, ...

Giving Through Your Retirement Account

Did you know you can make a charitable donation from your retirement account and lower your taxable income? At age 70 ½, IRS regulations require individuals with qualified retirement accounts to begin taking Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from their account. Did you know that by gifting this distribution directly to charity, you can lower your taxable income while making a difference in a ministry? Want to donate part, or all, of your RMD to Warm Beach Camp? Contact Jeannie Patterson ...

Auction Recap

By Jeannie Patterson Grateful. This is the first word that comes to mind when I think about the Kids 2 Camp Benefit Day. Grateful for those who donated such fun and amazing items. Grateful for all the volunteers and staff who contributed time and energy to make this day happen. Grateful for generous bidders.  Most of all, grateful for a God who brings so many together to work and give for the sake of His Kingdom. It was a beautiful ...

“I Received a Scholarship”

Warm Beach Horsemanship offers Equestrian Vaulting instruction through camps, classes, and even a competitive club team. Equestrian Vaulting is essentially gymnastics and dance on a moving horse. Many who participate in vaulting instruction are horse enthusiasts but have never tried the sport. As you can imagine the first time sitting on a horse with no saddle and being asked to let go and stretch your arms to the side can be rather unnerving. Ginger Reitz, Assistant Horsemanship Director, describes the ...

Cascadian Lodge Renovations Completed

Cascadian Lodge is 57 years old! With many years of service since the last renovation, it was time to update and preserve this lodge for years to come. Renovation work was started on Cascadian Lodge a year and a half ago and was recently completed in June 2019. The renovations were funded through room memorials made by families who wished to commemorate family members and other loved ones while also contributing to the ministry here at Warm Beach Camp ...

The Difference was Fred

“Life changes here”…a phrase you may have heard. This phrase doesn’t just apply to our campers and guests, but also our volunteers and staff. Often volunteers come to Warm Beach Camp to be part of something bigger than themselves, to help with programming, labor and other tasks. Little do they know the experience is often just as life changing for them as it is for the campers they serve. This was exactly the case for Marcus Petterson, “Fred” here ...

Partners in Ministry Dinner

On May 11th Warm Beach Camp hosted its annual Partners in Ministry Dinner. This was a time for Warm Beach Camp to thank its neighbors, financial donors, prayer partners, and volunteers for the significant role they play in the ministry. This was also a time to thank God for continuing to do amazing things at Warm Beach Camp. He is preparing the Camp for the future and our highest goal is to stay in the center of His plans and we ...

Do scholarships matter?

Do scholarships make a difference? A loud, “Yes!” is the answer. As the Program Manager for Everett Gospel Mission’s women and children’s shelter, here is how I have seen camp impact our children through the years with the help of Kids 2 Camp Scholarship fund at Warm Beach Camp. The children and their mothers often are fearful to leave each other for the week. Due to their lives becoming chaotic and unsure, they have come to depend on each other. ...

A Sea of Yes!

Ladies Night Out was an event that will not soon be forgotten. Preparations were made, prayers were said, centerpieces were placed, and the smell of bacon wrapped cheesy jalapeno hors d'oeuvres filled the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center in downtown Stanwood. I don't think I'm alone when I say that the Ladies Night Out Auction benefiting Special Friends Camp at Warm Beach Camp was wildly successful. As all eyes were fixed on the video of a day at Special Friends Camp, a camp for ...

Volunteers – what you do matters!

This past week I visited with two volunteers, both have driven courtesy carts for The Lights of Christmas Festival for many years. The first volunteer told me of a grandmother arriving on the public bus with her two grandchildren on the last night of the event, just before 5:00pm. “I only have an hour!” she told the cart driver. “I promised them they could ride the train! Can you take us there?” The train wasn’t running yet, but the suggestion of pony ...

Serving others reveals God’s heart of love

As I looked around the room I saw unfamiliar faces, a rarity in my small town. Over 200 people had gathered at my church in Northern Indiana. As a pastor’s kid, I often got roped into every church event and activity. Soup for the Soul, our church’s meal program to the homeless, was no exception. For me, Soup for the Soul was different. As a flawed human being, I overlooked many of the people in my local community who would ...

A season of giving!

In December 2017, Tracy Graves and her three kids decided to make their Christmas all about giving and dedicated the entire month to volunteering at The Lights of Christmas festival. Tracy, Jessica (14), David (13), and Isabell (11) joined their grandparents, Bob and Evie Graves, and the whole family teamed up to help make The Lights of Christmas a success. David worked with his grandpa at the Polar Express train. Jessica joined her grandma helping in the Ornament Shop and bussing tables in Tinhorn ...

All we can say is, “WOW!”

After a little rain to cool the runners off, the summer sun peaked out from behind the clouds. The hustle and bustle from attendees entering the auction tent filled the room with excitement and joy. The day was packed with activities and fun. We were all excited to raise money for the many kids wanting to go to camp. In fact, 80 people showed up in the rain that morning to participate in the Kids 2 Camp Benefit Run. There ...

Thank You to the Faithful

When Joel and Marilyn Hume got married and started having children, it seemed only natural to start helping with the children’s programing at Warm Beach Oasis Family Camp each summer. Joel and Marilyn have volunteered in the 1st and 2nd grade kids’ class for the past 25 years. Volunteering at Family Camp has been a joy for Joel and Marilyn.  Marilyn said, “When they grow up you find out how much Camp meant to them.” Family Camp is a special ...

There was SO MUCH more going on!

Life changes at Warm Beach Camp. The following letter is from Becky, a foster mom, who was able to bring her two boys to Parent and Child Horse Camp because of Kids 2 Camp scholarship funds. It is a perfect example of the transformative power of Camp made possible because of our generous donors. My boys and I attended the three-day Parent and Child Horse Camp last fall and the boys excelled and absolutely blossomed with the horses. On the ...
